Subj: B&E's "PD" Quiz #2.

                   B & E's Purely Derivative QUIZ #2 !

This Quiz is a little "Potpourri-ish," covering music, film, definitely sports,
and a type of comedy. Peter noted that our choice of subjects is very different
from his. Three sections may interest history buffs too.

First Prize: Prizes? We ain't go no prizes. 2nd Prize: We don't need no...

THE (sigh) RULES:
1. One (1) Entry *Per Day*. One (1) Answer *Per Question Per Entry*.
2. Scoring: Most questions are worth 10 Points. Some only 5, as noted.
3. The Quiz totals to 365 Points, the same as the last one, in case we
ever have an "overall standings" chart.
4. This Quiz closes on May 8 when it's 11:59pm in Portland, Oregon.

              RESULTS: B & E's Purely Derivative QUIZ #2 !

First the Questions and ANSWERS for B&E's "pd" Quiz 2:

1. HARD ROCK BANDS WITH EASY NAMES! (Name the Band) (30)

A. What glam '80s band released the all-new "Back for More" in '97?

ans We were misled by a seemingly reputable websource. Some early Entrants
found this source and the answer we wanted. We gave them the full 10
points. The source later vanished, so we gave anyone who named a "glam"
band 8, and anyone who named any band 5. This scoring, or even just
tossing the question completely, did not change the standings. We opted
to give points over a "toss," because everyone likes to score!

B: What band's lead singer previously worked as an assistant coroner in
the Kern County Coronor's Department and moonlighted as an undertaker?

ans KORN (Jonathan Davis, nickname HIV, had those jobs)

C: What band's lead singer attended West Point Military Academy from
summer of 1983 until May 1984?

ans TOOL (Maynard Keenan attended West Point Prep and considered a military
career before deciding to become an "artist." At the school he was a
member of the cross country and wrestling teams and glee club)

C. "If there's ever anything I can do for you, or more to the point,
to you, all you need to do is ask, okay?"

ans SAM SPADE (an obvious, yet good pun from the "Brain Noir" episode)

the world, we learn that *what day* is not celebrated in Arizona?

Miscellaneous: There were several "Simple Searches" on this Quiz, where
some multi-parts were all answered at one url, or links provided there.
One such search was : +suffragists +mountain +battleship +cremated
which answered all of Part 8. Several other parts similarly were at 1 site.
