I indexed the baptism, marriage, death records in a spreadsheet(1460 lines),
record by record; noting the following:
year
type of record*** b(birth=taufbuch), m(marriage=traubuch), d(death=totenbuch)
surname
given name
spouse
father
mother
spouse's father and mother
location
record sheet number
*** nb an entry of "1756d name" doesn't necessarily that it is a death record for
that person, it may be a child named in the death record of a father or mother;
also a birth record entry can be for the father and mother.
Invariably I made typos in the spreadsheet entries; I have attempted to
correct all of the but some may remain.
I then saved the spreadsheets in a text file; then had to remove all the
tabs that were in the text files. The last operation was to add html tags to the
text files to bring up the appropriate record page image. I tried to alternate
those tags: year, name, year, name etc. to lessen the chance of hitting the wrong
tag; however in correcting some typos and adding some missed names I had to abandon
that practice in some few places.
The index is not as complete as I might wish, I know I have missed some
names within some records.
Names are given as they appear in the records; thus we have Cay-Kai-Kay-Kei
as a surname. Forenames have the same problem: Clags-Clas-Claus, Trien-Trin-
Trinke.
I have not used umlauts in names, using instead ae oe ue (this is not
true for Kuhl).
